All our research focuses on the human being! The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology conducts research on the advancement of diagnostic tools in our discipline in order to detect diseases early and better understand their prognosis and progression as well as on new therapeutic options and the causes of these diseases. One special feature of our research efforts is a translational approach: We develop our research questions and hypotheses bedside, find answers through experimentation in our labs and then return to bedside treatment with potential approaches that are once again subject to investigation.
